Chesterfield Arms
In the heart of London, within a village square, sits The Chesterfield Arms, offering a tranquil escape from modern city life. Tucked away in Mayfair, between Green Park and Hyde Park, this hidden gem has a rich history dating back to 1737 when it first opened as a pub. Renamed The Chesterfield Arms from 1769 to 1938, it resumed its original name in when Nanu Group worked on the refurbishment of the pub in 2021. The brief was to re-instate its charming traditional London boozer heritage.
We created this within the interior and externals, adorning the exterior with post box red paint and internally with dark wooden furnishings, evoking a sense of old-world sophistication. This cozy setting provides the ideal retreat to relax after a long day or enjoy a meal with loved ones. With its historic roots, the pub serves as a storyteller, connecting visitors to London's cultural past. More than a mere drinking establishment, The Chesterfield Arms stands as a sanctuary where tradition harmonizes with comfort, ensuring each visit leaves a lasting impression earning itself a spot Time Out’s ‘8 Best Mayfair Pubs’.
The Footman
Nanu Group was tasked with completely revamping the three-story Footman pub in London, which has been a fixture since 1749. Originally known as The Running Horse and frequented by footmen serving Mayfair households, the pub transitioned owners over time and eventually took on the name Footman. Renowned for being a hub of gossip, the pub needed a modern facelift while preserving its historical allure.
We successfully modernized the venue by introducing clearly delineated areas for drinking and dining on each floor, with the upper levels designated for private events. The redesign retained the original fittings like the art deco-inspired mirrored bar while incorporating softer tones and lighter textures to cultivate a welcoming ambiance for patrons to relax in.
